Engine: 2.0-litre (1,997 cc) inline 4-cylinder turbocharged engine (BorgWarner variable geometry turbocharger), transverse mounted, with common rail direct injection (2,000 bar injection pressure; 7-hole selenoid injectors). The engine features DOHC with 4 valves per cylinder, and has cast aluminium cylinder head and cast iron cylinder block. The camshaft drive uses a timing belt (cranckshaft to intake) with dynamic tensioner and an intake to exhaust chain with hydraulic tensioner. Crankshaft is made of drop forged steel, with 4 counterweights and five main bearings. Emission control features oxidation catalyst, water cooled EGR and standard cDPF. Lubrication system is pressure-fed with electronically controlled variable flow oil pump. Cooling system is based on a water pump with thermostat and valves, with thermal management system. Engine management is Ford Common Rail Diesel Engine Management System. The maximum output is 136 kW / 185 PS/hp at 3,500 rpm and peak torque is 400 Nm (approx. 295 lb-ft), available between 2,000 rpm and 2,750 rpm.
